X Trac Ripper Gaming Mouse Mat

As gamers we all know that having good equipment is almost as important as having games. With a badly set up computer your frames rates will be so slow that its unplayable. With an incorrectly set up monitor you may be unable to see half of the objects on screen (especially in dark scenes). And no mouse mat? Well when you move your mouse right your character may stay exactly where they were.

Although in recent years - with the addition of optical mice - mouse mats aren’t needed as much as they once were, they’re vital to anyone who considers themselves more than an occasional PC gamer. So today we’re taking a look at the “Ripper Cloth Top Mouse Mat” which it says is “for Hard-Core Gamers”. Lets see how it turned out…

The mouse mat comes rolled up in a small plastic tube (which is ideal for transporting it in, unfortuantly I don’t think the tube feels too strong so may break before you get to use it to transport your mat). On the side it has the specs:

  • 11″h x 17″w x 1/8″ thick, 280mmx432mm
  • Surface - Soft Cloth Control Weave
  • Backing - Sure Grip Rubber Open Cell Rubber for comfort

The first thing I noticed when rolled out was just how large it was. 280mm by 432mm doesn’t sound that big on paper, but when you see it you notice its about double the size of a “normal” (non gaming) mouse mat.

The ripper provides more than enough room for your typical gaming session. The only problem is that if you have a small desk you may not be able to fit it on. But disregarding that, the size of this product is perfect.

The underside of the mouse mat is very “sticky” rubber, that won’t start sliding about in a gaming emergency.

Ripper Mousemat

All in all, this is a very fine product, and suits its requirements very well. Overall rating - 9 out of 10. If you are a serious gamer, get this mouse mat!
